Warawut Says No Decision Yet on Ministerial Seats, Leaves Suphanburi Vote Recount to Election Commission

Warawut declined to comment on the Suphanburi vote recount, saying it is the Election Commission's jurisdiction. He added that ministerial posts have not yet been divided and noted that the integration of Palang Pracharath and the Economic Party into the party is a matter for senior leaders to handle.

On 12 February 2026 at 11:50 a.m., Warawut Silpa-archa, a Bhumjaithai Party leader, addressed calls for a vote recount in some districts of Suphanburi province. He said it depends on the Election Commission and local authorities how to proceed, since during the vote counting, the Election Commission and political representatives from all parties were present at polling stations. Therefore, if a recount is to happen, it is the Election Commission's right. He was uncertain if, after several days, court authority would be required to conduct the recount. As he is directly involved, he declined to offer an opinion.

Regarding concerns that the call for new elections is spreading nationwide, Warawut said that although views differ, the same rules apply at every polling station. The Election Commission and courts will likely apply uniform standards.

When asked whether the number of Members of Parliament under his responsibility could be leveraged to negotiate positions, Warawut said they have never negotiated from the start. They joined Bhumjaithai because its election policies aligned with their views and plans. They are pleased to work together and grow stronger. However, future work depends on discussions among the party leader and executives about forming the coalition government and planning the way forward.

Asked if there had been talks about positions within Bhumjaithai, Warawut said there have been none. Regarding coalition parties such as Palang Pracharath and the Economic Party joining Bhumjaithai today, he said he was unaware and that this would be handled by senior party officials.
