Crowd Booing After Election Commission Orders No Recount in Chonburi District 1

A crowd expressed dissatisfaction by booing after the Election Commission ordered no recount. "Chonburi District 1" Meanwhile, protest leaders confirmed that all evidence has been well preserved.


At 18:00 on 12 Feb 2026 at the Chonburi Municipal Gymnasium, badminton court area, Bang Plasoi Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi Province, about 100 protesters remained, attentively listening to the Election Commission's televised press conference broadcast on a screen set up by the group with a microphone to amplify sound. Some protesters also watched via mobile phones. After the Commission announced and decided there would be no recount for the MP election in District 1, boos erupted from the protesters expressing their dissatisfaction.

A woman became upset and started crying. Then a protest leader took the stage, expressing dissatisfaction with the Election Commission's announcement that there would be no recount. He insisted that all evidence had been collected from the very first day and carefully preserved, affirming that the election and vote counting were definitely not transparent.

The leader also showed evidence found in a trash bin beside the gym to the media and vowed not to leave the area under any circumstances. He also filed complaints against the Election Director for District 1 and the Chonburi Provincial Election Commission.

Later, Mr. Worachak Sathapornpinyoo, District Chief of Mueang Chonburi, along with Police Lieutenant Colonel Siribancha Kwanmuang, Deputy Superintendent of the Mueang Chonburi Police Station, invited representatives of the protesters and their lawyers for talks behind the gym to seek a resolution.
