Protest Representative Apologizes to Crowd, Admits Failure to Push for Recount in Chonburi District 1 Election

"Protest Representative" apologizes to the crowd, acknowledging the failure to push for a vote recount "Chonburi District 1" and confirms ongoing efforts to verify the facts continuously

At 20:20 on 12 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reports stated that at the protest site in Chonburi District 1, a group of protest representatives issued a statement to the crowd, expressing apologies to the public and supporters for being unable to persuade the Election Commission (EC) to open the ballot boxes for a recount as demanded.

The protest group representatives said that although their efforts were unsuccessful, they would not cease their movement and would continue fact-finding to ensure clarity and fairness, emphasizing that legal procedures would remain their primary approach.

The protest group plans to request access to and download CCTV footage from relevant locations to examine whether officials followed prescribed regulations and laws, expecting this process to take approximately 5 to 12 hours.

Additionally, the representatives stated that if any irregularities or procedural violations are found, they would consider legal action against all involved parties, including certain local news pages that spread false information, causing misunderstandings and escalating the situation.

Toward the end, the protest representative informed participants that they could voluntarily decide whether to stay and monitor the situation or leave, noting that officials plan to collect and move the ballot boxes to a location designated by the EC as per procedures.
