Election Ballot Boxes for Chonburi District 1 Moved to New Storage 500 Meters Away

Officials have moved the election ballot boxes for Chonburi District 1 to a new storage location at the Muang Chonburi District Community Hall, approximately 500 meters from the previous site, amid public monitoring.

At 00:10 GMT+7 on 13 Feb 2026, at the municipal gymnasium in Chonburi town, where the District 1 ballot boxes were kept, officials and Territorial Defense Volunteers began loading the ballot boxes onto a truck to transport them to the Muang Chonburi District Community Hall for safekeeping.

While officials were loading the ballot boxes onto the truck, a group of people who had been monitoring the area shouted expressions of dissatisfaction, booed, and made remarks questioning the transparency of the moving process.

However, the situation remained peaceful with no clashes or violence reported between officials and the protesters. Representatives Fern and Fon from the crowd stayed nearby to observe; notably, Fon performed a dance beside the ballot box truck.

After the truck left the gym area, some crowd members closely followed the convoy to monitor where the ballot boxes would be stored next, under the security of police officers from Muang Chonburi Police Station stationed along the route. The final destination for all ballot boxes was the Muang Chonburi District Community Hall, about 500 meters from the gym.

The transport took place amid observation by media and a group of people who followed the convoy by car to oversee transparency. Officials gradually unloaded the ballot boxes from the truck into the storage building. During the move, one ballot box was dropped, causing the nearby observers to make teasing remarks.
