Watch live as the Election Commission holds a press conference on the parliamentary election and referendum, awaiting responses regarding the barcode and QR code on election ballots.
Following online observations about the election ballots containing both barcodes and QR codes, which when scanned display unique codes, the public has expressed concern that these codes could be used to trace individual voters. The Election Commission clarified that the barcodes on ballots serve as a security measure to identify the batch and polling station of each ballot, functioning as a control measure to track the origin and prevent misuse; they are not linked to any political party. This issue has even sparked a hashtag.#InvalidElectionon social media.
