
The Prime Minister is preparing to open the 38th King Narai the Great Festival, honoring the heritage of Lopburi and inviting people to wear traditional Thai costumes to recall the prosperity of the Ayutthaya period.
On 13 February 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to preside over the opening ceremony of the 38th annual "King Narai the Great Festival" on 14 February at 6:30 p.m. at the main stage inside Phra Narai Ratchaniwet Palace, Mueang District, Lopburi Province.
The King Narai the Great Festival is Lopburi's largest historical tourism event, held to honor the benevolence and glory of King Narai the Great and to widely promote the prosperity of Lopburi during the Ayutthaya era through activities featuring a nostalgic atmosphere and realistic performances.
Highlights of the festival include a spectacular historical parade, ritual dances, the Narai Narumit Garden, and an exhibition of "King Narai’s Royal Medicine Recipes." Unique activities include the palace guard change performance, monkey drama, human chess, a retro market, and sales of OTOP products showcasing Lopburi’s finest goods. On the opening day, which coincides with Valentine's Day, there will be a special event called "Wear Thai Costume to Register Marriage."
The festival is scheduled from 13 to 22 February 2026 at Phra Narai Ratchaniwet Palace and nearby historical sites. Visitors can enjoy free grand light and sound historical fantasy shows throughout the event.
