Starting Today, Bangkok Bans Parking on Soi Sri Aksorn, Mek Sawat, and Prasat Suk to Improve Traffic Flow

From 18 Feb 2026 onward, the Government Gazette published a regulation by the chief traffic officer in Bangkok banning parking on Soi Sri Aksorn, Mek Sawat, and Prasat Suk to improve traffic flow in the Yannawa-Sathorn area.


On 18 Feb 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertvivattana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Government Gazette website publisheda regulation by the chief traffic officer of Bangkok regarding the parking ban on Soi Sri Aksorn, Soi Mek Sawat, and Soi Prasat Suk, B.E. 2568 (2025).This regulation will come into effect starting 18 Feb 2026.

The deputy government spokesperson further explained that the measure aims to facilitate traffic and enhance safety in the inner city area, which has seen continuous growth in residential and educational projects. The parking ban areas are as follows:

Soi Sri Aksorn (Yannawa-Sathorn area)

  • Parking is prohibited on alternating sides on odd and even days at all times.
  • Parking is prohibited on both sides from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.

Soi Mek Sawat, Soi Mek Sawat Intersection 1, and Soi Prasat Suk

  • Parking is prohibited on both sides at all times.

This regulation was signed on 26 June 2025 and published in the Government Gazette on 17 Feb 2026.

Meanwhile, the deputy government spokesperson asked for the cooperation of residents and road users in the area to strictly comply with the regulations to avoid legal violations, help create orderly traffic, reduce congestion, and enhance safety for everyone.
