Anutin Signs Order Removing Siripong as Government Spokesperson Following Resignation, Set to Become Sisaket MP for District 1

The Royal Gazette announced a Prime Minister's Office order removing Siripong Angkasungkornkiat from the government spokesperson position after his resignation on 5 February 2026. He is preparing to become the Member of Parliament for Sisaket District 1 following his election victory in 2026.


On 17 February 2026, the website The Royal Gazette publishedPrime Minister's Office Order No. 38/2569 regarding the removal of a political official from office.Signed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on 11 February 2026, the order stated the following:

Pursuant to Prime Minister's Office Order No. 310/2568 dated 30 September 2025 appointing Mr. Siripong Angkasungkornkiat as a political official holding the position of government spokesperson at the Prime Minister's Office effective from 30 September 2025,

Since Mr. Siripong Angkasungkornkiat submitted his resignation effective 5 February 2026, under Section 10 (2) of the Political Officials Act B.E. 2535 (1992), he is hereby removed from the position of government spokesperson at the Prime Minister's Office due to resignation, effective from 5 February 2026.

Additional reports indicate that Mr. Siripong ran as a candidate for Member of Parliament representing Sisaket District 1 for the Bhumjaithai Party, receiving the highest number of votes in the election held on 8 February 2026. The official confirmation by the Election Commission is pending. His resignation is expected to comply with legal provisions prohibiting MPs from simultaneously holding political official positions.
