Kwang Traisuli Resigns as Secretary to the Prime Minister, Expected to Become Party-List MP for Bhumjaithai

The Royal Gazette published an order from the Prime Minister's Office relieving Traisuli Traisornkul from the position of Secretary to the Prime Minister after she submitted her resignation, preparing to become a party-list MP for the Bhumjaithai Party.


On 17 February 2026, the Royal Gazette website publishedPrime Minister's Office Order No. 37/2569 regarding the removal of a political official from office.It stated that according to Prime Minister's Office Order No. 304/2568 dated 24 September 2025, Ms. Traisuli Traisornkul was appointed as a political official to the position of Secretary to the Prime Minister, effective from 24 September 2025.

Since Ms. Traisuli Traisornkul has submitted her resignation effective 7 February 2026, under the authority of Section 10 (2) of the Political Official Act B.E. 2535 (1992), she is hereby removed from the position of Secretary to the Prime Minister due to resignation.

This takes effect from 7 February 2026 onward.

Additional reports indicate that Traisuli's resignation as Secretary to the Prime Minister is expected to lead to her serving as a party-list member of the House of Representatives after the Bhumjaithai Party secured the highest number of votes in the 2026 election. The party has 193 MPs: 174 constituency MPs and 19 party-list MPs. Traisuli ranks 10th on the party-list. Furthermore, the law prohibits MPs from concurrently holding political official positions.
