The Prime Minister coughed and indicated a sore throat, refusing to give an interview after being asked about Hun Manet's complaint accusing Thailand of land encroachment at a peace forum in the United States.
On 18 February 2026 at the Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul left the premises. Before getting into his vehicle, reporters tried to interview him about the Peace Committee meeting in Washington, D.C., where Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated on stage that Thailand had seized Cambodian land, causing suffering to the Cambodian people.
Anutin cupped his hand to his ear to hear the reporters' questions near the entrance of the Thai Khu Fah Building, then declined to comment by pointing to his throat and coughing before immediately getting into his car and leaving the Government House.
