Parit emphasized that government stability depends not on the number of MPs but on policies that solve citizens' problems. He declared that once parliament opens, there will be an intensive effort to amend laws and overhaul the social security system.
On 19 Feb at the Future Forward building, Parit Watcharasindhu, spokesperson for the People’s Party, commented on the current government formation situation. He said it is unsurprising which parties join forces, as each decides based on their declared stance. However, his concern lies with policy stability, as no clear joint agenda has yet been announced about which issues will be prioritized when parties with differing policies collaborate to serve the public.
Parit stated that as the opposition leader, the People’s Party is not focused on who becomes ministers or on internal rifts such as that involving Lt. Col. Thammanat in the KLA Party. Instead, they aim to fulfill their oversight role and plan to submit important legislation immediately once parliament convenes. This includes amending the constitution article by article to allow citizens to initiate the removal of independent agencies, and reforming social security laws to promote transparency in managing funds contributed by insured members.
"The party forming the government is like a couple who have agreed to be partners, while the opposition parties are like singles who come together only due to legal necessity," Parit said, comparing cooperation within the opposition bloc. He reaffirmed that the People’s Party will continue working on their agenda undeterred by the political maneuvers of those in power.
