A royal decree granted special Territorial Defense Volunteer ranks to Sabida, Sakda, and Sasithorn.
On 20 February 2026, reporters stated that on 19 February the Royal Gazette website published a royal decree concerning special rank grants within the Territorial Defense Volunteers.
The royal command bestowed the special rank of Colonel in the Territorial Defense Volunteers to Acting Colonel Sabida Thaiset. While serving as Deputy Minister of the Interior, she performed duties related to the Territorial Defense Volunteers as Deputy Commander, a senior command position in the Volunteer Command, starting 19 September 2024.
Additionally, the royal command granted special Territorial Defense Volunteer ranks to two others who, as Deputy Ministers of the Interior and Deputy Commanders of the Territorial Defense Volunteers, hold senior command roles responsible for overseeing personnel and members. They are as follows.
1. Acting Colonel Sakda Wichiansilp is granted the rank of Colonel.
2. Acting Colonel Sasithorn Kittithornkul is granted the rank of Colonel.
These promotions take effect from 7 October 2025 onward.
