Royal Decree Strips Female Major Supriya Yencham of Military Rank

A royal decree has been issued to strip Female Major Supriya Yencham, an army officer, of her military rank due to criminal charges against her.


On 20 February 2026, the Royal Gazette website published a Prime Minister's Office announcement regarding the royal permission to revoke military rank and recall royal decorations.

The royal decree grants permission to remove Female Major Supriya Yencham, an army officer, from her military rank effective 25 July 2025, due to criminal charges and her fleeing, pursuant to Section 12 of the 1936 Military Rank Act and its amendment (No. 6) of 1958.


This is in accordance with the Ministry of Defence regulations on those unfit to hold military rank and titles (1954), Article 2, and royal permission to recall royal decorations including the Order of the Crown of Thailand, the Order of the White Elephant, and the Chakramala Medal, as per Sections 6 and 7(8) of the 2005 Prime Minister's Office regulations on recalling royal decorations.


Female Major Supriya Yencham has been officially removed from the list of recipients of royal decorations as per the relevant Prime Minister's Office announcement.


The announcement was made on 18 February 2026.
