Prime Minister Assigns Phiphat as Host for Iftar Dinner During Ramadan Year AH 1447

The Prime Minister has assigned Phiphat to host the iftar dinner during Ramadan year AH 1447, offering prayers for success and peace for Thai Muslim brothers and sisters.


At 7:00 p.m. on 20 February 2026 at Al Meroz Hotel on Ramkhamhaeng Road, Suan Luang District, Bangkok, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, appointed Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, as chairman of the iftar dinner during Ramadan year 2026 CE (AH 1447). Present were Mr. Santi Piyatat, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office; Mr. Sakda Wichiansilp, Deputy Minister of Interior; Mr. Arun Boonchom, Chularatchamontri; representatives of Muslim ambassadors to Thailand; foreign diplomats stationed in Thailand; the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand; and Muslim representatives attending the event.


The Deputy Prime Minister expressed wishes for peace to all attendees, stating that Ramadan is a significant month of religious observance for Muslims. It is a time to reflect on the Quran, which Allah has bestowed as guidance for life with a heart full of faith, including fasting to practice patience and purify the mind. It is also a time to foster a compassionate society through charity and sharing with the poor, which forms the foundation for building a peaceful society.


He praised the Muslim community for their dedication in observing the fast during Ramadan to uphold the values and traditions of Islam.


“On this auspicious occasion of Ramadan in the Hijri year 1447, may the noble blessings of the Almighty grant mercy, contentment, and robust health to all Thai Muslims. May your prayers be fulfilled as you wish, and may peace, well-being, and prosperity be with everyone,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. .


The Chularatchamontri expressed deep gratitude to the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and all involved parties for their kindness and honor in hosting the iftar dinner for the Thai Muslim community and foreign diplomats in Thailand. Afterwards, the Deputy Prime Minister presented a souvenir to the Chularatchamontri and joined in the meal before departing.
