Anutin and Tycoon Dhanin Perform Buddhist Chanting Ceremony to Celebrate Somdet Thongchai’s 73rd Birthday

Anutin participated in the Buddhist chanting merit-making ceremony for Somdet Thongchai. Celebrating the auspicious 73rd birthday. Tycoon Dhanin, Dr. Chalermnan, and Suwat along with political circles joined the event.


On 21 February 2026 at 09:30 at Wat Traimit Wittayaram Worawihan, Bangkok, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, joined a Buddhist chanting merit-making ceremony for the auspicious occasion of the 73rd birthday of Somdet Phra Maharatchamongkolmuni (Thongchai Thammathacho), the Central Supreme Patriarch, member of the Sangha Supreme Council, and assistant abbot of Wat Traimit Wittayaram Worawihan. The ceremony was graciously presided over by Somdet Phra Phutthachan (Sanit Chuanpanyo), Eastern Supreme Patriarch and abbot of Wat Traimit Wittayaram Worawihan, along with monks from Wat Traimit. Present were government officials including Atsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior; Siam Sirimongkol, Director-General of the Community Development Department; Theerapat Kachamat, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation; Pongnara Yenying, Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning; and Theerut Supaviboonpol, Director-General of the Department of Local Administration. Also attending were business figures such as Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group, as well as political figures including Dr. Chalermnan Srikaew, former Minister of Public Health, and Suwat Liptapanlop, Chairman of the Chart Pattana Party, along with Buddhists and disciples who joined the ceremony.
