As soon as Mr. Anutin arrived, reporters teased him about dressing as a nobleman and asked if the government lottery’s three-digit winning number was 300. Anutin replied with a playful joke, saying "37 for sure." The reporters acted surprised and teased back, "370 then?" Anutin laughed before stepping down to greet the public. Meanwhile, groups of women from various Phetchaburi districts waited to welcome him, shouting, "We love P'Nu, we love P'Nu, so sweet." Anutin responded by clenching his right fist and placing it over his heart.

Later, at 19:20, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, officially opened the 39th annual "Phra Nakhon Khiri – Phetchaburi City" event for 2026.
On stage, Mr. Anutin introduced his delegation to the audience to foster familiarity and expressed his gratitude to the people of Phetchaburi for trusting them with all three provincial MPs. He also mentioned that several cabinet members were present. He said he was excited and happy to be there—not forced but coming sincerely to meet the people of Phetchaburi. He described the beauty of Phetchaburi, especially the illuminated Khao Wang palace, which looked like heaven on earth to everyone. He said he felt proud on behalf of Phetchaburi’s residents.
“The Governor of Phetchaburi and the head of the provincial administrative organization insisted I come, saying this year’s event must be grand and I should meet the people to get closer to them. Since they chose the party to represent the entire province, how could I not come? No matter how busy I am, I had to meet the people of Phetchaburi today. I was not disappointed; I received smiles and warm welcomes. I felt it when riding in the car—seeing smiles, hearing calls and greetings—I had to stop the car and greet the people; I couldn’t stay inside. Thank you for the warm hospitality the people of Phetchaburi have given me, my wife, and my cabinet,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that when visiting Phetchaburi, people should forget about diabetes and enjoy the local sweets. He acknowledged that health-conscious people reduce sweetness and sugar but still maintain delicious aroma and flavor. He believes Phetchaburi remains renowned for its excellent local cuisine. UNESCO has designated Phetchaburi as a Creative City for food. It is a tourism destination with valuable natural heritage such as Kaeng Krachan Forest, cultural and historical sites, and local lifestyles.
He added that today's event is very valuable, enhancing people’s quality of life, serving as a platform to conserve local heritage, and expressing loyalty to the monarchy. He also praised the beautiful traditional Thai costumes worn.
As head of the government, he pledged to deliver happiness, well-being, security, safety, and dignity to all respected Thai citizens.
Reporters noted that after the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister and his wife, along with cabinet members and prospective MPs, joyfully joined the traditional "Khao Wang" dance with the public before happily touring event activities.
