NIDA Poll Shows Over 50% Unconcerned About Nullified Election Mixed Satisfaction with Overall Results

NIDA Poll revealed survey results showing over 50% of people are not worried if the election is voided. They believe political parties used social media to influence society and note a close split in overall satisfaction ratings between "somewhat satisfied" and "dissatisfied." The election outcome ratings are evenly matched.


On 22 February 2026, NIDA Poll, the opinion survey center of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), released results from a survey titled “The Post-Election Turmoil.” The survey was conducted from 17-18 February 2026 with a sample of 1,310 citizens aged 18 and older, distributed across all regions, educational levels, occupations, and income groups nationwide. The survey focused on public satisfaction with the recent election results.

When asked about people's satisfaction with the election results in their own electoral district, it was found that

  • 39.31% reported being somewhat satisfied,
  • 27.33% said they were very satisfied,
  • 18.40% stated they were not very satisfied,
  • and 14.96% said they were not satisfied at all.

Regarding people’s satisfaction with the overall election results nationwide, the findings showed that

  • 29.69% were somewhat satisfied,
  • 29.31% were not satisfied at all,
  • 27.25% were not very satisfied,
  • and 13.75% were very satisfied.

As for public concern over the QR code and barcode issue on the ballots, which might cause the 8 February 2026 election to be nullified and require a new election, it was found that

  • 50.31% were not concerned at all,
  • 20.53% were somewhat concerned,
  • 18.40% were not very concerned,
  • 10.23% were very concerned,
  • and 0.53% did not respond or were indifferent.

Finally, when asked about public belief in political parties using social media to influence society during the election campaign, the results showed that

  • 33.66% believed this strongly,
  • 28.94% somewhat believed it,
  • 17.02% did not really believe it,
  • 16.87% did not believe it at all,
  • and 3.51% did not respond or were indifferent.
