The Election Commission remains silent and has not explained the changes to the ballot papers for the 22 February 2026 election after the public raised questions about the altered ballot format.
At 11:00 a.m. on 23 February 2026, reporters reported that after some re-elections took place yesterday (22 February), it was found that the Election Commission printed new ballot papers without serial numbers on the stub, unlike the elections on 1 and 8 February. This led the public to question whether the printing of new ballot papers is an admission of error by the Commission.
Most recently today (23 February), the atmosphere outside the Election Commission office showed no protesters or activists, only media personnel waiting to cover the Commission's statement on this matter, as well as other issues for which the Commission had only issued press releases.
Today, the Commission held its regular weekly meeting as usual, but there is no report that it will provide a detailed statement to the media. It has been over a week since the Commission held a press conference, with only press releases issued to clarify various matters.
