Prime Ministers Speech on National Artists Day 2026 Praises and Honors Artists Across All Fields

The Prime Minister delivered a speech on National Artists Day 2026, honoring and praising artists who create the nation's artworks, recognizing them as human resources who have contributed significantly to the country.

On 24 February 2026 at 08:00, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, gave a speech on National Artists Day 2026, stating:

On the occasion of "National Artists Day" for the year 2026, I send my remembrance and best wishes to the National Artists, artists from all fields, and everyone involved in creating the nation's art. The government has declared 24 February as National Artists Day since 1985, as it is the birthday of King Phutthaloetla Naphalai, the first Royal Artist of the Rattanakosin era, who was highly skilled in various arts. This day also honors his immense royal grace and contributions to the nation's art and culture, as well as recognizing and honoring artists who create national artworks that are renowned both domestically and internationally.

National Artists are valuable human resources who have significantly contributed to the country. They are scholars with exceptional knowledge and expertise in various art forms who have dedicated themselves to creating and passing on precious artworks that benefit society, the nation, and humanity. Promoting, supporting, and encouraging National Artists is a way to recognize their value and ensure their legacy is passed on to future generations.

On this occasion, all Thai people take great pride and joy that the National Culture Committee has resolved to bestow the title "Siriphin Artist, National Artist" upon Professor Dr. Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, the Princess Royal, Krom Phra Sri Sawangwadhana Vorakhantraratchanaree, and declared her a National Artist in the Visual Arts (Painting) category for the year 2024.

On the occasion of "National Artists Day" which falls again on 24 February, on behalf of the government and all Thai people, I wish to offer my royal blessings to Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, the Princess Royal, Krom Phra Sri Sawangwadhana Vorakhantraratchanaree, "Siriphin Artist, National Artist." May the Triple Gem and all sacred beings universally bless and protect Her Royal Highness with the fourfold blessings, grant her happiness and fulfillment of all royal wishes, and may she remain a cherished inspiration to all her people forever.

"I congratulate those honored as National Artists, artists in all fields, and everyone involved in art who have created valuable artworks for Thailand. This continues the heritage and cultural wisdom, preserving it as a priceless treasure and a distinguished honor for the nation."
