Ekarat lashes out at People’s Party task force, challenges them to meet face-to-face

Ekarat, prospective MP for the People’s Party, reacted angrily against the party’s task force, calling them "disgusting as hell" after they criticized the selection of candidates with legal cases pending. He challenged them to meet face-to-face, insisted the court acquitted him of sexual harassment charges and that fairness must be upheld, before deleting his post.

On 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Ekarat Udomamnuay, prospective Bangkok MP for the People’s Party, shared a post expressing disappointment with the party’s candidate selection. He commented, “I want to meet the task force face-to-face!!? This is nonsense, crazy, desperate for attention. Do you understand the principle of presumption of innocence? It is a criminal law principle that presumes a defendant innocent until proven guilty by a final court judgment. This principle protects fundamental human rights.”

LawSexual harassment, as I drafted it, was not meant to be usedto labelothers. In this case, the lower court acquitted and the appeals court acquitted as well. It’s beyond the party’s ability to know or substitute court rulings. Those who speak in anger, the party has never neglected sexual harassment issues as claimed.

Given these events, I ask the task force to stop accusing the party’s candidate selection process of mistakes. I affirm the party has thorough mechanisms to screen for sexual harassment and violence issues. It’s utterly disgusting to speak carelessly like this.

However, after some time, Mr. Ekarat has deleted the aforementioned post.
