Palang Pracharath Party Spokesperson Confirms Government Participation, Hopes for Deputy Minister or Minister Attached to PMs Office Despite Only Five Seats

The Palang Pracharath Party spokesperson is not worried about the election being annulled, pointing out that the matter is already in process. He firmly confirmed that the party will join the government and hopes to secure Deputy Minister or Minister positions attached to the Prime Minister's Office despite holding only five seats.

At 1:00 p.m. on 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at the Palang Pracharath Party headquarters, Pol. Lt. Gen. Piya Tawichai, the party spokesperson, spoke about today's executive committee meeting, saying it proceeded as usual and reaffirmed that the Palang Pracharath Party will join the government, although it still needs to seek another party resolution.

Regarding government position quotas, Pol. Lt. Gen. Piya said it depends on negotiations and the Prime Minister's assignments. Discussions have been ongoing with other parties, and there is no problem as the party has always worked closely with Bhumjaithai Party.

When asked how the party would handle having only five seats against the quota of ten MPs per ministerial seat, Pol. Lt. Gen. Piya said they might accept Deputy Minister roles or Ministers attached to the Prime Minister's Office, depending on the Prime Minister's decision. However, all decisions await another party resolution.

Asked whether the party had discussed election-related issues, Pol. Lt. Gen. Piya said this is the responsibility of the Election Commission and the Constitutional Court, since complaints have been filed, including with the judiciary. The process is underway, so there is no cause for concern.

Regarding what would happen if the court ultimately ruled the election void, Pol. Lt. Gen. Piya said the decision must be accepted. But if no new election is held, the government must continue. The process is ongoing, and there is nothing to worry about.
