Senator Nantana revealed that on 26 February the outcome of the petition submitted to the Constitutional Court to nullify the election will be known. She anticipates a move by the 'blue senator' faction to elect two additional new Election Commissioners and declared she is ready to walk out and publicly denounce the matter.
On 24 February 2026 at the Parliament, Senator Nantana Nantawaropas spoke about progress regarding the petition submitted to the Constitutional Court to review the election process held on 8 February 2026, which appears inconsistent with the Constitution's intent. She said the petition is still being drafted for submission because many details must be fully considered. The issues include not only the presence of QR codes on ballots that allow vote traceability but also the vote counting process and a re-vote process where ballot details changed—specifically on 22 February, ballots lacked the same numbers as those from 8 February 2026. Thus, a thorough review is required. The petition seeks to have this election nullified because the election management process did not comply with constitutional intent and contradicted constitutional provisions. The draft is expected to be completed around 26 February, before senators sign the petition.
Regarding which legal provisions or methods will be used, Senator Nantana said her legal team is preliminarily reviewing which rights and channels apply. If the petition does not fit legal requirements, other methods or approaches might need to be considered.
Concerning the extraordinary Senate session on 26 February to approve two Election Commissioners, Senator Nantana said that on that day Senator Thewarit Maneechai submitted a motion to delay the vote because most senators face allegations of collusion. However, she believes this motion will not be placed on the agenda and that she will likely be prevented from debating or presenting arguments. Therefore, if debate is blocked, she is prepared to hold a press conference immediately and to boycott the vote on approving the Election Commissioners.
