The Secretary-General of the House of Representatives has outlined plans to receive the new MPs on 26 February and emphasized that the first parliamentary session must wait until the Election Commission certifies at least 95% of the election results.
On 24 February 2026, Mr. Siroj Paetphan, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, spoke about preparations for receiving the new Members of Parliament (MPs), both constituency and party-list. He stated that the Election Commission is expected to certify the MPs by 25 February. The House has prepared the meeting room on B1 floor as the reporting point for the new MPs, the same venue used in the previous election. If the Election Commission certifies the results promptly as scheduled, the House will be ready with all necessary documents immediately.
However, he acknowledged there might be minor obstacles regarding the issuance of MP ID cards, as the procurement process takes time. The cards may be distributed to members later, but this is not expected to affect their work. As for scheduling the first parliamentary session, it must wait until the Election Commission officially certifies at least 95% of the election results. Once this threshold is met, according to Section 121 of the Constitution, the House must coordinate with the Secretariat of the Cabinet within 15 days. Subsequently, the Prime Minister will submit a formal request to the King to open the first parliamentary session in accordance with legal procedures.
