
On 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, the Cabinet resolved to appoint Anan Pho Nin Daeng as the new Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, and promoted the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Land Transport and the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Airports to ministry inspectors.
On 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Airin Panrit, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Cabinet had resolved to appoint several positions as follows.
The Cabinet approved the proposal from the Office of the Special Committee for Coordination of Royal Projects. Appointing Mr. Prinya Wat Watcharapakorn, a civil servant, to the position of Advisor for Coordination of Royal Projects (Senior Policy and Planning Analyst). He will serve as Advisor for Coordination of Royal Projects (Expert Policy and Planning Analyst) at the Office of the Special Committee for Coordination of Royal Projects. Effective from 21 Oct 2025 GMT+7, the date he fully qualified and the Prime Minister has approved. This appointment takes effect from the date of royal appointment.
At the same time, the Cabinet also approved the proposal from the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Appointing Ms. Jirassaya Peeranont, a civil servant, currently Ambassador at the Embassy in Vientiane, Lao People's Democratic Republic, to serve as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at the Embassy in Nairobi, Republic of Kenya, to fill a vacant position. This appointment is effective from the date of royal appointment. The appointment has been approved by the host country and the Prime Minister.
The Minister of Transport proposed appointing two civil servants under the Ministry of Transport to senior executive positions to fill vacant posts. The Cabinet approved as proposed as follows.
1. Mr. Seksom Akkarapan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Land Transport, to serve as Ministry Inspector, Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
2. Mr. Kiatchai Chaireungyot, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Airports, to serve as Ministry Inspector, Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
This is effective from the date of royal appointment, with approval from Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn.
Finally, the Cabinet approved the Ministry of Transport's proposal to appoint Mr. Anan Pho Nin Daeng as Governor of the State Railway of Thailand. This appointment is effective from the signing date of the employment contract and not before the Cabinet resolution date, with Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn's approval.
