
The Prime Ministerheld a committee meetingto oversee the organization of the 99th birthday celebration of Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch, and also convened the executive committee to organize the honorary event for Her Majesty the Queen.
On 24 February 2026 at 14:00 at Santi Maitri Building (Rear), Government House, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the first executive committee meeting of 2026 to organize the 99th birthday celebration of Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch, on 26 June 2026.
Present were Somdet Phra Maha Wirawong, member of the Supreme Sangha Council and secretary to the Supreme Patriarch and assistant abbot of Wat Ratchabophit; Mr. Sophon Sarum, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Bowornsak Uwanno, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Akniti Nititanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Phradorn Prisanantakul; Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi; Mr. Naphin Srisanpang; Mr. Santi Piyatat, Ministers attached to the Prime Minister's Office; General Natthaphol Nakpanich, Minister of Defense; Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture; and Ms. Yupa Taweewattanakitboworn, Secretary-General of the Prime Minister's Office.
The Prime Minister opened the meeting by stating that Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, the Supreme Patriarch, will reach his 99th birthday on 26 June 2026, marking a special auspicious occasion as he approaches a century of age.The government therefore considers it appropriateto organize a celebration befitting his honor and dignity. The event will include royal ceremonies, religious rites, various projects and activities both in Thailand and abroad. To ensure smooth coordination, an executive committee has been appointed to oversee the 99th birthday celebration of Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana, with the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office collaborating with Wat Ratchabophit and related agencies to plan the event, which will be presented to the committee for approval.
The Prime Minister issued a government order on 3 February 2026 appointing the executive committee. Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana granted permission for the Supreme Sangha Council to participate as honorary religious advisors in the committee. The celebration will include royal ceremonies, religious rites, projects, and activities both domestically and internationally, such as Buddhist chanting ceremonies, almsgiving ceremonies, exhibitions, and other commemorative activities.
Following this, the Prime Minister chaired the first executive committee meeting of 2026 to organize the honorary event for Her Majesty Queen Suthida Patcharasutthaphimol on the occasion of her 48th birthday on 3 June 2026. Present were Air Marshal Pakdee Saeng-Chuto, Assistant Royal Secretary to His Majesty the King; Lady Butri Veerawitaya, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Royal Household Affairs; and Khunying Chantanee Thanarak, Assistant Royal Secretary to His Majesty the King.
The Prime Minister stated that as Her Majesty Queen Suthida Patcharasutthaphimol will turn 48 on 3 June 2026, the government deems it fitting to organize a celebration to express loyalty and gratitude for her graciousness. The event will include royal ceremonies, formal events, projects, and various activities. A committee has been appointed to oversee the organization, with the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office and related agencies planning the activities, which will be submitted to the committee for consideration.
The Prime Minister issued a government orderappointing the executive committeeon 3 February 2026, with the Speaker of Parliament, President of the Supreme Court, and President of the Senate serving as advisors; the Prime Minister as chair; all Deputy Prime Ministers as vice chairs; ministers attached to the Prime Minister's Office, ministry heads, and relevant experts as members; and the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office as secretary. Planned events include Buddhist chanting ceremonies, almsgiving ceremonies, royal tribute and floral offerings, candlelight ceremonies to offer blessings, exhibitions, and other celebratory activities in honor of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Patcharasutthaphimol's 48th birthday on 3 June 2026.
