
The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) held a joint meeting with the Office of the Attorney General to address obstacles in transferring case files between the two organizations and resolve related issues.
On 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, the NACC's Case Division organized a meeting of the coordination working group between the NACC and the Office of the Attorney General to coordinate and resolve obstacles in carrying out their official duties. Mr. Surapong Intrathaworn, Secretary-General of the NACC and head of the working group, chaired the meeting. Also present were Mr. Rachat Phanomwan, Deputy Attorney General of the Anti-Corruption Division and deputy head of the working group, along with coordination team members from both the NACC and the Attorney General's Office. The meeting took place in Nonthaburi Room 3, Building 4, 3rd Floor, NACC headquarters. Ms. Somsiri Chamnanchanun, Director-General of the Anti-Corruption Division and head of the working group from the Attorney General's Office, participated via video conference.
The meeting was held to coordinate and resolve obstacles in carrying out the duties of the NACC and the Office of the Attorney General, to consult on official matters and joint operational guidelines, and to use the meeting outcomes to establish procedures and report to the NACC. The participants reviewed various discussion points as follows.
1) Determining issues and reviewing incomplete matters.
2) Obstacles encountered in joint committee meetings.
3) Obstacles in transferring case files to the Attorney General for prosecution or returning files to the NACC for self-prosecution.
4) Coordination difficulties between NACC officials and prosecutors.
5) Progress of cases referred to the Attorney General for prosecution.
6) Providing legal protection and assistance in criminal defense for individuals under Section 132.
The meeting included open discussions and exchange of views with suggestions to resolve obstacles, aiming to facilitate smooth and proper coordination between the NACC and the Attorney General's Office. This is to ensure effective and efficient operations. The NACC coordination team will report the meeting outcomes to the NACC for further consideration.
