On 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, the Royal Gazette website published a proclamation stating that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun graciously granted royal permission to rename King's Guard military units.
By authority of Section 8 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand 2017, Section 5 of the Royal Administrative Regulations Act 2017, Sections 8(2), 10(5), 15, and 17(2) of the Ministry of Defence Administrative Organization Act 2008, and its Amendment Act 2013, His Majesty graciously granted royal permission to rename 14 King's Guard military units as follows.
1. The 2nd Infantry Division King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 2nd Infantry Division King's Guard.
2. The 2nd Infantry Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty theKing.shall be named the 2nd Infantry Regiment King's Guard.
3. The 1st Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 1st Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment King's Guard.
4. The 2nd Infantry Battalion. 2nd Infantry Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment King's Guard..
5. The 3rd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment King's Guard.
6. The 12th Infantry Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 12th Infantry Regiment King's Guard.
7. The 1st Infantry Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 1st Infantry Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment King's Guard.
8. The 2nd Infantry Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment King's Guard.
9. The 3rd Infantry Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment King's Guard.
10. The 2nd Artillery Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 2nd Artillery Regiment King's Guard.
11. The 2nd Artillery Battalion, 2nd Artillery Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 2nd Artillery Battalion, 2nd Artillery Regiment King's Guard.

14. The 102nd Artillery Battalion, 2nd Artillery Regiment King's Guard under His Majesty the King shall be named the 102nd Artillery Battalion, 2nd Artillery Regiment King's Guard.
