Most recently, on 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Rachen Trakulwiang, leader of the New Alternative Party, signed an order temporarily suspending Mongkolkit from his role as secretary-general. Profile of "Mongkolkit Suksintharanon"

Introducing the background of Mongkolkit Suksintharanon, nicknamed Tae or as he often tells others, "Tae Rama 7." He was born on 25 Sep 1981, turning 45 in 2026, in Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province. He has been married twice: first in 2006 to Ms. Patthanan Ritchairuangdet, divorced on 11 June 2010; second to Ms. Phakorn Chantrakhana in 2010, divorced on 10 Sep 2018; then remarried Ms. Patthanan again on 24 July 2019. Mongkolkit has four children: Jepang, Pingan, Shinten, and Tingting.


Education

Mongkolkit completed a vocational certificate (Vocation Certificate) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Preparatory from King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, followed by a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Power Engineering from the same university. He also earned a Master of Political Science (Political Science and Government) MPE-18 from Thammasat University and a Doctorate in Public Administration from Thaksin University.


Political Career of "Tae Mongkolkit"

Mongkolkit began his political career by running for Member of Parliament (MP) in Bangkok in 2007 under the Pracharaj Party but was not elected. After the 22 May 2014 coup led by then-Army Commander General Prayut Chan-o-cha, on 6 Oct 2014, the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) appointed 250 members to the National Reform Council, including Mongkolkit as an expert member from 1 Nov 2014 to 6 Sep 2015. Subsequently, on 13 Oct 2015, the NCPO appointed 200 members to the National Reform Steering Assembly, with Mongkolkit serving as an expert member from 13 Oct 2015 to 3 Aug 2017.

Then, In 2018, Mongkolkit launched the Thai Sriwilai Party as its leader and ran as a party-list MP candidate in the 2019 election, winning a seat with 60,354 votes. In the early government period, he acted as an independent supporting both government and opposition from 2019-2020. Later, from late 2020 to 2023, he was in opposition, serving as spokesperson and military affairs committee member in the 25th House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023.


In the 2023 election, Mongkolkit led the Thai Sriwilai Party again but failed to win any seats. He then reduced his political activity for a period. On 25 Apr 2024, he joined the Democrat Party, and on 23 May 2024, he was appointed advisor to party leader Chalermchai Sri-on. After Chalermchai resigned as party leader on 12 Sep 2025, Mongkolkit resigned from the Democrat Party on 17 Sep 2025.

For the 2026 election, Mongkolkit joined the New Alternative Party as secretary-general and actively campaigned. The party secured one party-list MP, Rachen Trakulwiang, as leader, while Mongkolkit was third on the list and was not elected. Nevertheless, he continued to file complaints alleging election irregularities based on his personal rights until recently being ordered to temporarily suspend his duties as party secretary-general.
