Western University Awards Honorary Doctorates to Ministry of Interior Permanent Secretary, Praised as Exemplary Administrators

"Sabida and Assisit" received honorary Doctor of Philosophy degrees, honoring them as visionary administrators devoted to serving the people.


On 25 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at the Army Club (Vibhavadi) conference room, General Dowpong Rattanasuwan, Privy Councillor, presided over the ceremony granting honorary Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Public Administration from Western University to Mr. Assisit Sampantarat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior. Senior executives from the Ministry and provincial governors attended to offer congratulations, including Mr. Narit Niramaiwong, Governor of Chonburi, and Mr. Wirun Sitthiwong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration.

On this occasion, Mr. Assisit also congratulated Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, who received an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree in Political Science by unanimous resolution of Western University's council during this ceremony.

Associate Professor Dr. Jirasak Jiyajan, President of Western University, read a commendation praising them as administrators who perform their duties with honesty and compassion, prioritizing the well-being of the people in emergency management, public policy implementation, and security maintenance. They are decisive yet gentle leaders, serving as role models for the new generation of civil servants upholding the principle of "Relieving Suffering, Promoting Happiness" genuinely. Therefore, the university council unanimously resolved to award these honorary doctorates as a lasting honor.
