MPs have been collecting their certification letters at the Election Commission. Chanont, Bhumjaithai MP for Nakhon Sawan District 2, sent a representative to receive the first letter. MPs Pradorn, Karavee, and Siripong have also arrived. Tong deferred to Anutin to answer whether the government formation deal with Kla Party is open or closed.
Following the resolution yesterday (25 February) by the Election Commission (EC) to announce the names of 396 constituency MPs elected, the EC invited those elected to collect their certification letters at the EC's reception room on the 2nd floor of the Ratchaprasanaphakdi Building, Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday, 5 December 2007, Chaeng Watthana Road, Thung Song Hong Subdistrict, Lak Si District, Bangkok. Certificates are available from today until 6 March 2026, between 08:30 and 16:30 daily, including public holidays.
Reporters at the EC office at 08:30 on 26 February 2026 observed elected constituency MPs gradually arriving to collect their certification letters. The first to arrive was a representative of Mr. Chanont Thaiset, Bhumjaithai MP for Nakhon Sawan District 2, authorized to collect the certificate because Mr. Chanont was abroad observing Ramadan fasting.
Later, Ms. Thantharee Santapan, Pheu Thai MP for Ubon Ratchathani District 6, personally collected her certification letter as the second person. She expressed relief that the EC had completed certification, noting protests in her area over the transparency of rival candidates. She plans to continue working locally, advocating for constituents on infrastructure such as roads and water supply, and also aims to develop education as this is her second term.
Regarding criticism of the EC's work, she said it is the agency's matter to be handled through proper procedures, but she believes the certification indicates some level of verification. Then, Mr. Cherngchai Chalirint, Pheu Thai MP for Chaiyaphum District 2, elected for his third term, personally came to collect his certification letter as the third recipient.
Around 09:00, Mr. Pradorn Prisanantakul (Ang Thong District 1), Mr. Karavee Prisanantakul (Ang Thong District 2), and Mr. Siripong Angkasagulkiat (Sisaket District 1), all from Bhumjaithai Party, arrived together to collect their certification letters. Afterward, Mr. Siripong revealed that after receiving the EC certification, they would report to Parliament, with each member collecting their certificate according to their convenience.
Overall, Bhumjaithai Party has scheduled a gathering at Parliament on 6 March to support the many newly elected MPs. Mr. Siripong added that rapid EC certification is beneficial as it allows faster progress in addressing issues. Many, like Mr. Pradorn, served as ministers in the previous government but faced limitations in resolving problems; timely certification enables them to advance their work sooner. Regarding criticisms that might lead to annulment of the election, Mr. Siripong said it is the EC's responsibility to answer societal questions. As candidates, they abide by EC rules, and whatever happens depends on the EC.
/ Regarding progress on government formation and ministerial seat allocation, Mr. Siripong said there has been no internal discussion about this. Only Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior as head of Bhumjaithai Party, has instructed MPs to perform their duties fully and communicate their work to the public.
/ The Anutin 2 Cabinet lineup and how closely it matches reality as reported by the media. Mr. Siripong said it roughly aligns with what Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and a Bhumjaithai leader, has said. However, he personally does not know the details or the clarity regarding the Kla Party. The party meeting assigned Mr. Anutin and Mr. Chaichon Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society and party secretary-general, to negotiate government formation. Therefore, only Mr. Anutin can clarify whether the deal is open or closed.
Reporters added that subsequently, two MPs from the Kla Party also came to the EC to collect their certification letters: Mr. Lutfi Hayietae, Narathiwat District 1 MP, and Mr. Yunaydi Waba, Pattani District 4 MP.
