
A recount of the party-list MP election votes in Prachuap Khiri Khan province was completed for two polling stations in Constituency 1, Sam Roi Yot district. The Election Commission reported the process went smoothly, with vote counts matching the number of ballots and voters who participated.
On 26 Feb 2026 GMT+7 at 10:00 at the Sam Roi Yot District Office auditorium in Prachuap Khiri Khan, the Election Commission ordered a recount of party-list votes for Constituency 1, Sam Roi Yot district, covering two polling stations: station 2 in Rai Mai subdistrict and station 8 in Sam Roi Yot subdistrict.
During the recount at both stations, many community members and some party candidates observed. Officials transported ballot boxes from Sam Roi Yot Police Station to the counting area and began counting ballots. Polling station 2 in Rai Mai subdistrict had 438 voters, with 438 party-list ballots cast. Polling station 8 in Sam Roi Yot subdistrict had 341 voters and 341 party-list ballots cast.
The precinct committee then recounted the party-list votes. At polling station 2 in Rai Mai subdistrict, there were 399 valid ballots, 26 spoiled ballots, and 13 ballots where no party was selected. These matched the total ballots and voter turnout. The discrepancy on 8 Feb 2026 was due to one valid vote missing from the total count.
At polling station 8 in Sam Roi Yot subdistrict, there were 301 valid ballots, 32 spoiled ballots, and 8 ballots with no party chosen. These also matched the ballots and voter turnout. The discrepancy on 8 Feb 2026 involved one spoiled ballot score being omitted.
Mr. Sakchai Lerkittiwatkul, Director of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Election Commission, explained that the recount was prompted by a minor error by the precinct committee. Though it involved only one vote, a full recount was necessary to ensure 100% accuracy, as all votes factor into the nationwide calculation of party-list MP seats. The recount confirmed accurate numbers at both polling stations. The results will now be reported onward.. The party-list vote results will be recorded on form MP5/18 and forwarded to the central Election Commission.
For the 2026 party-list MP election in Prachuap Khiri Khan province across all three constituencies, there were 437,499 registered voters. Of these, 325,282 voted, a turnout of 74.35%. Valid ballots numbered 299,883 (92.19%), spoiled ballots 16,460 (5.06%), and ballots with no party selected totaled 8,937 (2.75%).

Regarding the referendum results in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s three constituencies, out of 437,499 registered voters, 313,574 voted (71.67% turnout). Of these, 154,216 voted in favor, 118,612 against, 32,106 abstained, and there were 8,639 spoiled ballots (2.76%).
Mr. Morakot Oeam, a candidate from the Prachachon Party,who observed the process,expressed sympathy for the officials in the area,who worked very hard, but he urgedthe central Election Commission tooperate more transparently, as widespread images in society have caused public mistrust.
