The unofficial new vote count results for the party-list MP election in two polling stations in Phetchabun Province—Polling Station 2, Constituency 4, Nong Phai District, and Polling Station 1, Constituency 1, Mueang District—now match the number of ballots and voters who participated.
On 26 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that following the Election Commission's decision to conduct a recount, Phetchabun Province had two polling stations requiring a new party-list MP vote count: Mueang and Nong Phai districts.
Constituency 4, Polling Station 2, Nong Phai District, Phetchabun Province.
Constituency 4, Polling Station 2, Village No. 2, Nong Phai Subdistrict, Nong Phai District, Phetchabun Province, has 498 registered voters, with 312 voters casting ballots. Of these, 278 were valid ballots, 29 spoiled, and 5 ballots did not select any party-list.
The recount was ordered because the total votes for all parties exceeded the valid ballots by one, totaling 279 votes versus 278 valid ballots. The top three were: 1st Bhumjaithai Party with 92 votes, 2nd Prachachon Party with 69 votes, and 3rd Pheu Thai Party with 31 votes.
At 10:00 today (26 Feb) at the Chon Daen District Hall, Phetchabun Province, the recount took place with only a few citizens observing. One CCTV camera recorded the process.
The vote counting proceeded as per procedures, but Election Committee members covered the barcodes on the bottom of the first two ballots—ballot 1 (46) for Prachachon Party and ballot 2 (8) for New Democracy Party—with their hands. After that, no further barcode covering occurred.
The recount results showed no changes in the top three rankings as follows.
In first place is the Bhumjaithai Party. Originally 92 votes, recounted as 91 votes.
In second place, the Prachachon Party. 69 votes (unchanged).
In third place, the Pheu Thai Party. 31 votes (unchanged).
The numbers of valid and spoiled ballots remained the same.
Constituency 1, Polling Station 1, Phetchabun Province.
Meanwhile, at the Phetchabun Provincial Administrative Organization Hall, the Phetchabun Election Commission Office held a recount for Constituency 1, Polling Station 1, Nai Mu Subdistrict, Mueang Phetchabun District, limited to party-list votes. The Phetchabun Election Director, Constituency 1 Election Director, former candidates, party representatives, and local residents observed the process.
A new Election Committee member was assigned to ensure impartiality in ballot evaluation and counting. The recount began at 10:00. Observers noted that those announcing votes mostly held the ballots with their left hand at the top center and right hand at the bottom center, often covering the barcode area. However, no party representatives or observers objected. The recount took about one hour to complete.
Mr. Pakorn Tangtaidtrong, Election Director for Phetchabun Constituency 1, explained that the recount was necessary because on 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, 404 voters cast ballots, but the total votes counted were 405. After the recount, the votes matched the 404 voters. The Thai Sap Thawi Party's votes decreased from 25 to 24, and Kla Tham Party's votes decreased from 59 to 58. Spoiled ballots increased from 26 to 27.
It was noted that several spoiled ballots had marks crossing over both the party symbol and the party number, possibly reflecting voters' intentions.
