Attakorn Sirilattayakorn affirms there is no snake in the Kla Tham Party. All members are in good spirits and keep communicating regularly. He declared readiness to move forward alongside Thammanat.
On 26 Feb 2026, Mr. Attakorn Sirilattayakorn, MP for Chachoengsao District 2 from the Kla Tham Party and Minister of Tourism and Sports, revealed after receiving his election certification at the Election Commission office that he came after finishing a meeting at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. He planned to report to Parliament with 57 fellow newly elected MPs.
Attakorn said that entrusted by the people, he is ready to serve and benefit the people of Chachoengsao province. Regarding the Kla Tham Party's clarity on joining the government, it depends on Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Bhumjaithai Party leader. He reaffirmed since before and after the election that they are prepared and capable, with personnel ready to perform all duties to drive the country forward. On the government formation progress, Attakorn stated he has never been involved but is committed to moving forward with Lt. Col. Thammanat.
Attakorn said Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, Kla Tham Party's advisory chairman, has encouraged party members as one family. Despite past political attacks, these claims have proven untrue. The party earned trust from the public in 156 constituencies, marking a significant step. Kla Tham is firmly ready to advance. Personally, Attakorn continues to drive the Ministry of Tourism as many issues remain pending. Government formation negotiations are matters for senior leaders, which all MPs and party members understand well.
Asked if Kla Tham could work with the People’s Party if it becomes opposition, Attakorn said he does not consider that as Kla Tham is not opposition now. The party holds a clear stance and will support anything beneficial to the country. When asked about rumors that Kla Tham might nominate a People’s Party member to contest prime minister against Bhumjaithai, Attakorn denied ever hearing or discussing this within the party.
Regarding rumors of 'snakes' within Kla Tham, Attakorn laughed, saying he has seen and heard these from media sources. If there is any evidence, it can be reported. Party members continue encouraging each other and communicating. He confirmed everyone will move forward. When pressed on what would be done if a snake emerged, Attakorn said not to mention it because currently there is none. He believes if there were, such a person would lose public trust, affecting voters’ confidence in the next election.
When asked if he has spoken with Lt. Col. Thammanat since returning from viewing the northern lights, Attakorn said he had the chance to consult him on work matters, as Thammanat is an advisor to the Ministry of Tourism.
Regarding the People’s Party’s election result objections in Chachoengsao, Attakorn said it is their matter. Kla Tham has already earned public trust with a margin of 40,000 to 50,000 votes. He said the party prepared thoroughly before the election, including work performance, local presence, and straightforward problem-solving for the people. The rest depends on candidates persuading voters in their constituencies that they can effectively serve.
About rumors that the People’s Party might take the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry, traditionally held by Kla Tham, Attakorn said every time Kla Tham held this post—whether Lt. Col. Thammanat, Prof. Dr. Narumon Phinyosinwat, Minister of Education, or himself—they worked continuously. He believes whoever assumes this position will find it challenging but continuing existing projects will benefit farmers. Asked if it would be easier if Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit took the role, Attakorn said he cannot say as the appointee is not yet known. All candidates have opportunities, and it depends on Anutin’s decision on suitability.
