Recount Results for Party-List MP Election, Sakon Nakhon Constituency 1, Polling Station 32, Complete Vote Count

The recount results for the Party-List MP election at Sakon Nakhon Constituency 1, Polling Station 32, are complete. It is believed officials forgot to mark a spoiled ballot during the original tally.

At 09:30 on 27 Feb 2026, in the Muang Sakon Nakhon District meeting room, Mr. Sarawut Suwanjutha, Deputy Governor of Sakon Nakhon, Ms. Jiraporn Berkbandee, Provincial Secretary, and Ms. Charatkwan Chawrua, Director of the Sakon Nakhon Provincial Election Commission Office, witnessed the recount at Polling Station 32, Constituency 1, That Choeng Chum Subdistrict, Muang District, Sakon Nakhon. This was ordered by the central Election Commission following complaints that the original count on 8 Feb lacked transparency and that the Party-List MP vote tally did not match the number of voters by one vote.

After summarizing the recount at Polling Station 32, there were 358 registered voters, 340 allocated ballots, and 256 voters who cast their ballots.

Of the 256 ballots cast, 239 were valid, 5 spoiled, 11 ballots did not select any party list, and 84 ballots were unused. The combined total revealed one missing vote, prompting today's recount.

Today, the polling station officials recounted 256 ballots. The recount showed a change in the number of spoiled ballots—increasing from 5 to 6—while other vote counts remained unchanged. This resulted in the total ballots and vote counts matching perfectly. The issue likely stemmed from an official error, forgetting to mark one spoiled ballot.

Ms. Charatkwan Chawrua, Director of the Sakon Nakhon Provincial Election Commission Office, said the recount proceeded smoothly. Observers raised concerns about the distance between officials and observers, which was resolved by moving the officials’ table closer to the observers for better visibility of the ballots. In Sakon Nakhon, only one polling station had a recount. Although there were two complaints from the 8 Feb 2026 election, both are still under investigation by officials.
