Anutin Has Yet to Talk with Thammanat, Awaits Election Commissions Certification of All MPs Denies Party Seminar Linked to Government Formation

Anutin has not yet spoken with Thammanat after his first media interview. He dismissed the Bhumjaithai MPs' seminar as unrelated to government formation or ministerial seat division, and noted that Thaksin's parole is in accordance with the law.

At 13:50 on 27 February 2026, at the Government House, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, prepared to depart for Phrae province. He ordered the convoy to stop so he could greet intern students taking photos near the Thai Khu Fah Building. He came down to greet them, took group photos including Polaroids as keepsakes, asked about their internship locations, and wished them good luck.

Before Anutin got into his vehicle, reporters asked whether he had spoken with Major General Thammanat Prompao, advisory chairman of the Kla Party, following Thammanat's first media interview. Thammanat had urged waiting for the Election Commission (EC) because the certification of all MPs has not yet been completed.

Regarding whether the Bhumjaithai MPs' seminar in Buriram would clarify government formation, Anutin said that if the EC certifies both constituency and party list MPs, the seminar would serve as an orientation. When asked if ministerial quota allocations would be finalized at the seminar, Anutin denied any connection, saying it was unrelated. Asked if the total of 292 MPs would increase, he declined to answer and instead wished a 'have a good weekend' in a relaxed manner.

On the matter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's expected parole in May, Anutin affirmed that all procedures comply with the law before promptly departing the Government House.
