Seripisut has filed a complaint against Anutin regarding the appointment of Thammanat as minister, citing serious ethical violations and stating he does not want corrupt people governing the country.
On 27 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Police General Seripisut Temiyavet, leader of the Seri Ruam Thai Party, submitted a letter of complaint to the Ombudsman, requesting an investigation into Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul’s appointment of Captain Thammanat Prompao as a minister in the previous government. He asked that the case be referred to the Constitutional Court to determine whether it violates Sections 160 (4) and (5) of the constitution concerning honesty and serious ethics breaches, despite the current government being caretaker.
Police General Seripisut explained that he filed the complaint now because he sees a political trend where Anutin is likely to consolidate or expand control over the entire country, especially through caretaker powers to transfer high-ranking officials including provincial governors and district chiefs, which could affect the election process. He also referenced past vote-buying behavior in Buriram province 30 years ago for comparison.
When asked if he was concerned about the impact on Captain Thammanat, Seripisut said firmly, "I don't care," emphasizing he is acting for the nation’s benefit. He affirmed he never supported Captain Thammanat, only noting that he was easier to work with. Regarding the Constitutional Court’s ruling on Thammanat’s foreign legal case, he said that while legally valid, in terms of ethics and morality, Anutin must take responsibility as the appointer.
The Seri Ruam Thai leader also harshly criticized the Election Commission for hastily certifying election results within 17 days despite having up to 60 days, questioning whether this benefited Anutin in forming the government. He asserted that this election smelled of scandal in every ballot and warned that if the party-list MPs are certified without resolving doubts, he will take legal action against Election Commission Secretary-General Saowang Boonmee.
He also questioned the legality of the Prachachon Party’s replacement of candidate for Bangkok Noi district 33, substituting Mr. Taepipop Limjitrakorn for the original nominee, asking if this was permissible or involved under-the-table payments to the Election Commission. He plans to file additional complaints on this issue.
Police General Seripisut concluded on the attempt by Bhumjaithai Party to absorb Seri Ruam Thai to form a 300-seat government, saying he does not approve. He stated that with his anti-corruption stance, he cannot join with corrupt people. He suggested that MPs opposing corruption should unite and that Abhisit Vejjajiva is the most suitable candidate for prime minister in this situation.
"It's not that I don't want to see Anutin or Thammanat in government, but I don't want corrupt people to govern. I want good people to govern in accordance with King Rama IX’s royal guidance," Police General Seripisut concluded.
