Sia Nu Claims Remaining Steps Beyond Control Before Naming Prime Minister

"Sia Nu" claims there are still steps beyond control before the Prime Minister's name is finalized; evades media questions by saying "rush to board plane" after being asked about clarity regarding the Kla Tham Party.

On 27 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at Wing 6 Airport, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, spoke about the timeline and process for naming the Prime Minister. He stated that several factors remain beyond the caretaker government's control, such as the certification of MPs. Currently, the Election Commission has only certified constituency Senators and has not yet certified the 100 party-list MPs, with no known date for this. There are also pending complaints. Therefore, everything must be settled first, as matters like convening the parliamentary session and MP certification are not under the caretaker government’s authority. Anutin met with the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives two days ago and was told that further information would be provided because His Majesty the King will preside over the parliamentary opening ceremony before the House session. This is paramount, so the government is ready to await coordination, as some matters require Anutin's signature and thus notification is awaited.

When asked for an answer regarding the Kla Tham Party, the Prime Minister tapped his watch and then made a gesture imitating an airplane taking off, before saying: "This is the final announcement."
