Additionally, the embassy provided general guidelines on what to do when hearing an air raid siren.

  • If indoors (home, office, etc.): immediately move to a shelter room, reinforced room, or an inner safe room.Close the door (turn handle 90°) and close windows (steel or aluminum windows). Stay inside for at least 10 minutes to protect against rockets and falling debris. If outdoors and in an area with buildings: enter the nearest building. If in an open area: lie flat on the ground and use your hands to protect your head.
  • In a private vehicle: stop immediately, turn off the engine, get out of the car, and enter the nearest building. If no building is nearby: lie flat on the ground away from the vehicle and protect your head. If unable to exit the vehicle: stop the car, duck below the window level, and wait for 10 minutes.
  • On public transport: intercity bus/school bus drivers should stop the vehicle, open doors, and have passengers duck below window level while protecting their heads.
  • For city buses: drivers stop the vehicle, open doors, and passengers should disembark and enter a building or duck if no building is available.
  • For trains/train stations: drivers reduce speed to 30 km/h for 10 minutes; passengers duck below window level.
  • After the alarm ends, stay in a safe place for at least 10 minutes. Do not approach suspicious objects or fallen rockets; report them to the police. Avoid gathering in impact zones due to potential secondary dangers. Follow official advice from trusted sources.
