Foreign Ministry Sets Up War Room to Monitor Middle East Situation, Advises Thai Nationals to Leave Israel and Iran Urgently

Minister Sihasak has ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish a War Room to monitor the Middle East situation, issue announcements urging Thai nationals in Iran and Israel to expedite their departure from the area, and set up a hotline for Thai citizens.


On 28 Feb 2026 GMT+7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Facebook page disclosed that due to the current tensions in the Middle East and the likelihood of escalating and expanding conflict that could affect the safety of Thai residents in the region,

Minister Sihasak Puangketkaew, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has instructed the ministry to undertake the following actions:


1. The ministry has continuously contacted all Thai embassies in the region to monitor and assess the situation and keep Thai nationals in the area regularly informed. The Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Embassy in Tehran have issued warnings and advice to Thai citizens from the early stages of the situation and have established embassy hotlines for Thai nationals.


2. Today, following recent incidents, the ministry issued an alert advising Thai nationals in the area, especially in Iran and Israel, to urgently leave zones at risk from the escalating tensions. It also urged Thai nationals without essential reasons to reconsider traveling to affected areas.


3. The ministry has set up a Situation Monitoring Center (War Room) to track and assess developments closely with various agencies, including Thai embassies in the region. All Thai embassies have prepared necessary assistance for Thai nationals on the ground, including evacuation plans if needed. Additionally, a 24-hour consular call center has been established (Consular Department Call Center at 0-2572-8442) for urgent assistance.


4. The ministry will coordinate with relevant foreign embassies in Thailand to ensure full protection of Thai nationals in the region and liaise with Thai associations abroad to stay informed about local situations and provide necessary assistance promptly.
