The People's Party supports establishing a War Room to closely monitor and assess the escalating tensions in the Middle East. They recommend that the Ministry of Labor collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist workers stranded in Israel toevacuateto safe locations.
On 1 March 2026, the People's Party posted a statement expressing concern for Thai nationals in the region, especially in Israel and Iran, amid the widespread and escalating Middle East tensions. They support government actions to promptly assist Thai people as proposed by Sahasawat Khumkhong, MP for Chonburi district 7 from the People's Party, who has continuously monitored labor issues, including the following recommendations:
1. Publicize warnings urging Thai nationals in high-risk areas to leave promptly if commercial airlines are still operating or to seek refuge in shelters to protect against missile attacks. Additionally, advise Thais who have no urgent reason to travel to these risky areas to avoid travel at this time and to follow updates from reliable sources.
2. Support the establishment of a War Room composed of regional embassies and relevant agencies to closely monitor and assess the situation, while preparing cross-border evacuation plans if necessary. Considering possible airspace closures, overland evacuation plans to third countries such as Jordan or Turkey should be made to enable the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist Thai nationals in both locations promptly.
3. The Ministry of Labor should work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to track and assist Thai workers still stranded with employers and Israeli authorities, coordinating their evacuation to safe areas as soon as possible. They should also consider opening new labor markets in the future to provide Thai workers with more options for safe overseas employment beyond current conflict zones.
The People's Party sends encouragement to all Thai nationals and frontline officials diligently performing their duties and wishes everyone safety through this uncertain situation.
