Abhisit supports Anutin's stance on the escalating tensions in the Middle East, urging all parties to exercise restraint. Meanwhile, Isra calls on the government to accelerate plans for evacuating Thais and controlling energy prices to cope with the conflict crisis.


On 1 March 2026 GMT+7, Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, posted on Facebook expressing support for Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's approach to the current Middle East tensions. He highlighted the importance of prioritizing the safety of Thai people, preparing economic impact mitigation measures, and calling on all sides to exercise restraint to prevent the situation from escalating further. He expressed hope for ASEAN countries to unite in preventing member states from being pressured or drawn into the conflict.



The Democrat Party urges the government to expedite Thai evacuation plans and control energy prices.

Isra Suntornwat, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party,revealedhis views on the military tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran. The party is closely monitoring the situation with concern. As a member of the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD) and the Liberal International (LI) network, the party stands firmly for resolving conflicts peacefully through negotiations under the United Nations framework. The Democrat Party supports Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's position, which calls on all parties to seek peaceful solutions. They agree that the safety of Thais in Iran and surrounding areas is paramount and that clear evacuation plans should be in place if the situation escalates.


Isra added that he proposes the government promptly implement the following measures:

Prepare economically by having the Ministry of Energy develop plans to manage global energy price volatility, preventing increased living costs from impacting Thai citizens. 3. Foster regional cooperation by encouraging the Thai government to use ASEAN mechanisms to push for a joint statement calling for an immediate ceasefire and peaceful resolution of the conflict. In this fragile situation, the utmost priority is the safety of Thai workers and citizens in the area. Combined with government unity and careful planning, these efforts can safely guide Thais through this difficult time.
