Democrat Party Urges Election Commission to Review Vote Count in Bangkoks District 12 After 70-Vote Discrepancy

Phanupong called on the Election Commission to promptly investigate the vote count in Bangkok's District 12 after the party's actual votes were 71 votes, but the official report recorded only 1 vote.


On 2 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Phanupong Laksanavisit, legal committee member of the Democrat Party, revealed that today Mr. Rameth Ratanacheuang, chairman of the party's legal committee, submitted a letter to the chairman of the Election Commission requesting a review and correction of the party-list MP election results in Bangkok's District 12.

Details showed that at polling station 69, a tent at the sports ground inside Sena Villa Project 3, Soi Kubon 27, Intersection 10, Bang Khen district, a vote count discrepancy was found. Specifically, the tally form S.S. 5/11 (account) indicated that candidate number 27of the Democrat Partyactually received71votes, but the official tally form S.S. 5/18 (account) reported only 1 vote, resulting in a discrepancy of 70 votes.


Phanupong added that submitting this letter is a full effort to protect the rights and voices of the people, hoping the Election Commission will correct the results and act with honesty and fairness to ensure transparency and justice for the Democrat Party. If the party-list MP election results are certified without correction, the party will defendits rightsthrough legal channels.
