Piyabutr waves goodbye to the Orange Party, revealing he has fully fulfilled his commitments to the People’s Party and wishes to return to using his knowledge to think, speak, and write freely until they meet again.,
On 3 March 2026, Mr. Piyabutr Saengkanokkul, secretary-general of the Progressive Movement and campaign assistant for the People’s Party (PP), posted that after his final role assisting the People’s Party campaign at a rally in Khon Kaen province on 5 February, he has completed his assigned duties for the party.
However, 13 days after the election, the People’s Party invited me to give a lecture to all their prospective MPs and former candidates once again, which I accepted and spoke for nearly an hour. I will publish this lecture in writing on my page soon.
Additionally, I took the initiative to organize informal small group discussions to console, encourage those disappointed, congratulate the successful, offer reflections to both winners and losers of the election, and thank the behind-the-scenes team involved in campaigning and advocacy across several groups as appropriate. Up to now, it should be clear that I have fully released my commitments to the People’s Party as per my duties and thus wish to return to using the knowledge I have, to think, speak, and write freely, not connected to or acting on behalf of the party in any way.
Mr. Piyabutr stated that he still has pending writings, including the origins of the Future Forward Party, theories applied in founding the party, Marxist and leftist political party theories, collections of political speeches, critiques and proposals for the party, travel and study notes from various countries, and lectures from his master's courses (the last lectures before he resigned to start a political party).
In addition, I have gathered writings from my page, clips, interviews, lectures, and all works to be compiled on my personal website (currently in progress; expected to launch within a month). This year, I aim to prepare a manuscript and publish a book. I wish the People’s Party success moving forward until we meet again.
