Lawyer Aun exposed that the Bhumjaithai Party might escape the Senate vote-rigging case after a photo surfaced showing a subcommittee member investigating the case greeting Anutin Charnvirakul at the MotoGP event. He urged the DSI director to boldly make a final move by issuing summonses and arrest warrants related to the 'Amnat Charoen model' group.
At 11:00 a.m. on 4 March 2026 at the Parliament, Mr. Phattharaphong Suphaksan, or Lawyer Aun Buriram, spoke about the progress of the Senate vote-rigging case. He said that the Election Commission's 26th investigation subcommittee recommended charges against over 200 people, including Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The central Election Commission formed a subcommittee to review whether to prosecute based on the 26th subcommittee's recommendation; if this reviewing group decides not to prosecute, the case is closed. Meanwhile, in the related bribery and gang-related case handled by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), charges were filed against eight people: two senators, one former MP, and five others connected to a Surathani province Facebook page. However, prosecutors rejected the indictment, criticizing the investigation as sloppy. Previously, Lawyer Aun exposed vote-rigging in the 'Amnat Charoen model,' involving 'Mrs. Y,' a key associate of a major figure in Amnat Charoen, who allegedly transferred hundreds of thousands of baht to a former Surathani MP, which was then distributed further. Tracing the money flow shows funds originating from Amnat Charoen and being distributed in Surathani. He questioned why Surathani faces charges but Amnat Charoen does not, suggesting that if Amnat Charoen were prosecuted, it would implicate Buriram, Ang Thong, and Uthai Thani due to linked money trails. He expressed a desire to see DSI Director Pol. Lt. Col. Yuttana Praedam, rumored to be sidelined like a former State Railway governor, issue summonses and arrest warrants related to the Amnat Charoen model.
Mr. Phattharaphong added that recently the Election Commission sent a letter to the DSI inquiring whether party executives and members of the Bhumjaithai Party have been charged in the bribery and money laundering case. The DSI confirmed no charges have been filed, leading the reviewing subcommittee to conclude and close the case, effectively allowing Bhumjaithai Party to escape the Senate vote-rigging case.
Mr. Phattharaphong revealed a photo of Police Lieutenant Colonel Piya, a member of the reviewing subcommittee, raising his hand in greeting to Anutin Charnvirakul at Satuek Airport in Buriram while Anutin was opening the 2026 MotoGP season. He questioned this behavior, given that Police Lt. Col. Piya is supposed to judge Anutin’s case and is rumored to be the next DSI director. This raises suspicion that if Police Lt. Col. Piya assumes that position, the case might end with a decision not to prosecute.
