He expressed excitement, saying it felt like bringing the voice of over 30,000 voters from District 2, Songkhla. He thanked the people of Hat Yai and Khlong U Taphao subdistrict for jointly making political history with an honest election this time.
Mr. Juree said the election in Songkhla’s District 2 drew significant media attention since the candidate registration opened, with fierce competition because all candidates were capable and skilled, giving voters diverse choices. This led to intense competition before voters decided to elect him to serve as their representative.
Regarding urgent issues entrusted by the public, Mr. Juree noted the main problem remains flooding in Hat Yai. Although not yet officially certified, he has pushed for relief for flood victims, which the Election Commission has now approved. People are still awaiting repair funds, currently under review for disbursement. Additionally, the public expects the government to implement flood prevention measures in Hat Yai before the year-end, an important matter he intends to advocate for on behalf of residents.
On the Democrat Party’s role as opposition, Mr. Juree said this does not hinder their work since the opposition can still scrutinize the government and promote issues affecting the people. He added the government should realize that all areas belong to the people, not any political party, thus budgets must be allocated to resolve problems for affected citizens.
