Anutin led the Bhumjaithai Party's party list MPs to receive certification from the Election Commission, tapping his head three times and saying 'Sathu.' He stated that being a Member of Parliament is an honorable position and asked for patience regarding the allocation of ministerial seats, emphasizing that everything will follow the proper procedures.
On 5 March 2026, reporters described the atmosphere at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, where both constituency and party list MPs gathered to report to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives as scheduled. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, led all MPs by bus to the Parliament building at 1:00 p.m. Today, six buses were used, each bearing the name 'Bhumjaithai' instead of route numbers. Since early morning, MPs began arriving at the party headquarters, where Mr. Chaiyachon Chidchob, the party secretary-general, joined a meeting with the working team.
At 11:45 a.m. at the Election Commission Office, Anutin led a team of 19 party list MPs of the Bhumjaithai Party to receive their certification from the Election Commission. Among them were Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, party list MP number 3; Ms. Sabida Thaiset, party list MP number 5; Mr. Eknat Prompan, party list MP number 6; Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, party list MP number 8; and Ms. Traisuli Traisoranakul, party list MP number 10.
Upon arrival, Anutin signed the Election Commission's certification documents. Afterward, he showed the pink booklet to the press, tapped his head three times, and said, 'Sathu.' This part of the ceremony took less than three minutes before Anutin left the Election Commission. He was scheduled to report to Parliament but said he would not board the bus with other MPs, choosing to go directly to wait at Parliament instead. The others planned to gather first and enter together.
At one point, reporters asked about the head-tapping gesture when receiving the MP certification. Anutin said that being a Member of Parliament is a very honorable position, and he was happy to represent the Thai people. When asked if he gave any instructions to the party list MPs after they received their certification, Anutin replied, 'They must work to justify the trust the people have placed in them.'
Regarding urgent matters, he said there are many issues to address. The caretaker government must continue working fully, especially as unrest in the Middle East affects Thailand. Measures must be taken to minimize the impact on Thai citizens as much as possible.
When asked about facing many pressing issues after assuming office, Anutin said, 'Don’t add more heat. Stay calm. Problems exist to be solved.' Regarding whether the ministerial seat allocations are complete, the Prime Minister stated, 'Be patient, step by step. Everything must proceed according to the steps, as previously mentioned.' When pressed again about whether the ministerial positions were finalized, Anutin did not answer, only smiling before leaving the Election Commission.
Reporters added that after Anutin reports to the House of Representatives, he will go to the Government House to convene various agencies for discussions to monitor the situation regarding the conflict in the Middle East, ahead of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ daily press briefing in the evening.
