Kungfu Leads 5 Sai Ruam Palang MPs to Parliament, Unfazed by Potential Exclusion from Coalition, Emphasizes Respect for Bhumjaithais Invitation

"Kungfu" led 5 Sai Ruam Palang MPs to report to parliament, emphasizing that everyone is united. He acknowledged prior talks with Bhumjaithai before the election. Regarding joining the government, he said they respect the leading party to make the official invitation and are not worried about being excluded.

On 5 Mar 2026, Wasawat Puangpornsi, leader and party-list MP of Sai Ruam Palang, spoke after leading four MPs from Ubon Ratchathani and one from Surat Thani to report to parliament. Regarding coalition talks with Bhumjaithai, he said the party has six MPs; today, they reported by constituency, while he has not yet received his certificate from the Election Commission to report as party-list MP, which he will do later. Although small in number, they aim to be representatives with dignity and principles. Politically, it is proper for the leading party to officially invite them. He stands by the principle of a new political approach—no rush, avoiding the appearance of seeking benefits or bargaining seats. Their party comes from the people and holds dignity that stems from public support.

When asked if there had been initial talks with Bhumjaithai leaders about joining the government and whether he feared being left out, Wasawat said he is not worried. They respect the principle of majority support; whoever gathers the majority, they will gladly support. Joining the government requires politeness towards the leading party’s leaders who will extend the invitation. They are ready to do and support anything beneficial to the public. Currently, issues like the Middle East conflict, energy concerns, and the Thailand-Cambodia border—areas under their jurisdiction—require prompt resolution without delay.

Regarding contact from Bhumjaithai leaders, Wasawat admitted there were preliminary talks before the election. However, the official invitation must come from Bhumjaithai, which he cannot speak for as a small party. He thanked the media for supporting Sai Ruam Palang and the people of Ubon Ratchathani and Surat Thani for trusting their five constituency MPs. Although their votes are fewer than larger parties, it gives their small party a standing to continue voicing the people's concerns.

Asked if he fears Bhumjaithai might exclude them from the government, Wasawat said he is not concerned. They await the invitation and believe Bhumjaithai and the prime minister will speak on this. They are ready to support the majority.

When asked if Sai Ruam Palang will maintain unity and avoid dissent, Wasawat confirmed the party is united and emphasizes participation. Decisions respect the people's voice and are brought to the party's executive committee meetings, resulting in collective decisions. They want this to become a political culture—no rush, proceeding step by step.
