Navy Ready to Assist Thai Citizens in Middle East Conflict Area Upon Government Orders

The Royal Thai Navy is closely monitoring the Middle East war situation, confirming its readiness to assist Thai citizens. It has revealed plans for maritime evacuation operations and is prepared to act immediately upon government orders.

Evening of 5 March 2026 GMT+7. Rear Admiral Parach Rattanachaiphan, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy, stated that due to rising tensions and fighting in the Middle East, which may affect the safety of Thai citizens in the area, the Navy has been closely monitoring the situation and has prepared naval forces to support missions helping and evacuating Thai citizens from dangerous zones in line with government policy. The Navy has planned maritime evacuation through ports in safe zones near the conflict area to facilitate moving Thai people from various assembly points.

Operational actions depend on coordination between the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Thai embassies in different countries. The Navy has prepared large amphibious assault ships capable of transporting about 1,000 people, accompanied by escort ships forming a special task force fleet, with an estimated travel time to the area of about two weeks.

Rear Admiral Parach added, that current airspace restrictions may make maritime evacuation an alternative option. Although it takes longer, it can accommodate many people and offers operational flexibility. The Navy emphasizes that this plan is an initial readiness measure and can be adjusted according to actual conditions. It stands ready to support government decisions to protect Thai citizens abroad and to act immediately upon receiving orders. .
