Thammanat and Narumon led the Kla Tham Party MPs to pay respects to the sacred objects of the parliament before reporting for duty, emphasizing respect for Bhumjaithai, denying any quarrel with Anutin, and expressing no concern about party defectors, stating those who abandon the party are the worst politicians.
At 11:00 a.m. on 6 March 2026 GMT+7. Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, serving as Chairman of the Kla Tham Party Advisory Board, , and Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education and head of the Kla Tham Party, arrived at the parliament building. Upon arrival, they paid respects to the parliament's sacred objects, including Phra Siam Devadhiraj, Phra Suea Muang, Phra Song Muang, Phra Phum Chai Mongkhon, and the Ta-Yai Shrine, seeking blessings before reporting as members of parliament.
Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat said that for the new MPs, these are the parliament's sacred objects: Phra Siam Devadhiraj and, to the right, the Ta-Yai Shrine. These are sacred and MPs should pay respects before commencing their duties. Today, they will become full-fledged MPs. When asked what he prayed for, he said the prayer was a secret and could not be disclosed. Afterwards, he led Kla Tham Party MPs to report to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives and posed for group photos.
Later, at 11:55 a.m., Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat was interviewed. When asked if there had been talks with the Bhumjaithai Party about joining the government, he confirmed that he had not yet spoken with anyone, as he had stated after returning from abroad. When asked if Kla Tham Party could now be considered opposition, Thammanat said that if he were assigned to lead government formation, it would be clear which parties would join the government. But since they are not the leading party now, they give full respect as a matter of political courtesy.
Asked how he felt about the current cabinet lineup not including Kla Tham Party, Thammanat replied that as a politician now in his seventh year as an MP, having once been in opposition with colleagues from the Palang Pracharath Party, he had no particular feelings. He said he is ready to serve in any capacity. When asked if he regretted losing the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, he asked why he should regret it, saying that wherever he is, he can work. The roles people play can change at any time, and he is ready to pass the position to anyone else anytime. Regretting not having a position would make him a very bad politician.
Asked if Kla Tham Party as opposition worries about MPs becoming defectors or "snakes," Thammanat responded, "We are snake catchers; we do not let our snakes go anywhere—only green snakes with burnt tails." When pressed about rumors of buying defectors, Thammanat revealed, "That is fabricated news causing confusion. We have 56 constituency MPs in Kla Tham Party, and it took considerable effort to get each one. Anyone who leaves me is considered the worst politician."
Regarding Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's avoidance of questions about pulling Kla Tham Party into the government, Thammanat said he felt nothing and that he smiles everywhere because he has been a politician for a long time.
, When asked about his current relationship with Anutin, Thammanat said there is no anger, hatred, or quarrel between them. Reporters asked further, whether he has had any contact with Anutin recently. Thammanat said he keeps to himself and does not initiate contact. Being a politician requires dignity. When asked about his plans for parliamentary work, he said that will be revealed in time; he will fulfill his duties as a representative of the people. .
