Chaiyachonok reveals 99.99% progress on forming the "Anutin government," threatening decisive punishment for factional troublemakers. Anyone causing disruption will be firmly dealt with to prevent turmoil within the Bhumjaithai Party.
At 08:50 on 8 Mar 2026 GMT+7, at Chang International Circuit in Buriram province, Chaiyachonok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society and Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke about the objectives of the MP seminar, stating that the Bhumjaithai Party has beengrowing significantly, more than doubling in size, with new members outnumbering old members. The purpose of this seminar is to build understandingand foster closer unity by exchanging views on what it means to be part of Bhumjaithai. Although I am a second-term MP, the party has a culture distinct from others, which is to operate like a family and to get to know one another.Regarding adaptation, it is not only for new MPsbut also includesthe veteran MPs. As for the party’s current working style, many have noticed changes already, but there will be further adjustments. A key focus will be on the legislative branch alongside systematic changes in the executive branch, to help Thailand overcome crises and uncertainties and lay a foundation for future development.
When asked how the party will manage factions and cliques as it grows, Chaiyachonok said this has been an ongoing discussion and will continue. Previously, there were undercurrents, but we overcame them. The most destabilizing issues, in my view, were not the casino debate or problems with coalition partners moving from government to opposition, but certain moments when undercurrents threatened the party’s unity. Therefore, as we grow larger, and despite initial concerns, based on conversations, encounters, and changes in working methods where those actually working nowhave platforms and opportunitiesto shine and grow in various roles, I believe these will help dissipate factionalism to some extent.
"If anyone causes problems that affect the party, there will be firm disciplinary measures and management from the executive team."
When asked if the government formation will be confirmed during this seminar, Chaiyachonok said it is quite clear, but he prefers to let Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior as party leader, make the official announcement. When pressed on whether the government formation is finalized, he said it is likely 99.99% settled but left a 0.1% margin, noting that politics can always change.
